NORTH BERGEN -- The North Bergen Housing Authority has once again scored exceptionally well in the Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) which assesses Housing Authority performance in managing its low rent housing programs. In all four years since Gerald Sanzari became the Executive Director, the NBHA has achieved high performer status.
"I credit our high performer designation to my hard-working staff and consultants who are among the best in the industry,” said NBHA Executive Director Gerald Sanzari. “I like to think of us as being among the highest quality in public housing and HUD validates that opinion through the annual PHAS grading system."
Getting designated as a high performer is no easy task, yet the NBHA has consistently achieved that designation due to impeccable maintenance, adhering to rules and regulations and fiscal responsibility as verified by independent auditors year after year.
“I am so proud of the leadership and dedication of the people working at the North Bergen Housing Authority,” said North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco. “Having exceptional, affordable housing options for our seniors has always been a top priority and it is clear that focus has paid off.”
The NBHA has a 98.88% occupancy rate and scored a 94 out of 100 on the PHAS assessment.
