Police in Plainfield are investigating a shooting that happened in the city overnight.
Late night gunfire erupted in the area of Spooner Ave. and Essex Street sending multiple police units to the scene where a male victim was located.
EMS transported the victim to Robert Woods Johnson Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The victim is expected to be released from the hospital sometime this morning.
