Non-Life Threatening Injuries for Man Shot in Irvington

Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that happened overnight in the city. 

Irvington Police reportedly picked up the victim on Coit and Lyons Ave. suffering a non-life threatening  gunshot wound to the leg at around 1:30 a.m. 

The victim immediately reported to police that he was injured by gunfire on South Orange Ave. and Grove Street. 

A crime scene was established  on Grove and 14th Ave. where police recovered a vehicle possibly belonging to the victim. 

The victim was transported to University Hospital where he was treated and released. 

In a another incident, a victim of gunfire walked into University Hospital suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound according to officials. 

It is not immediately known where this victim was shot at or if the incident is connected to the 14th Ave. shooting.
