No Injuries Reported in Linden Chimney Fire

Linden Firefighters swiftly extinguished a fire that ignited inside a chimney of a Linden homes Sunday evening.

According to fire officials, shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, members of the Linden Police Department and Linden Fire Department responded to the 1800 block of Middlesex Street after receiving reports of a house fire at that location.

The fire was quickly contained to the chimney area and extinguished by Fire Department personnel officials said.

There were no injuries during the incident, and the family was able to return home following the incident.

"Our Firefighters did a fantastic job to put this fire out quickly so that no one was hurt and there was minimal damage to the house." Said Chief Joseph Dooley.

"We would like to thank the Linden Police Department, our Dispatchers, and OEM personnel who do so much for making sure we can focus our attention on fighting the fire."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
