There were no severe injuries immediately reported for a shots fired incident that residents say occurred near a school in Irvington on Sunday evening.
Police did not return requests for general public information but according to residents in the vicinity of Chancellor Avenue and Nesbit, at approximately 10:15 p.m. gunfire rang out near the Chancellor Avenue School sending several police units to the scene where officers taped off the area in search for victims and other evidence.
Residents, who occupy new developments that once had Irvington General Hospital in its place, say there were multiple gun blasts heard shortly before police converged on the scene for their investigation.
