Authorities have charged a 32-year-old woman with murdering her mother in the Hawthorne Park neighborhood of Willingboro, New Jersey The incident occurred yesterday at the victim’s home on Hopewell Lane, according to statements from Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Willingboro Township Police Chief Ian S. Bucs.
Breanna Beacham, who had been temporarily living at the residence with her mother, faces charges of first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Police responded to the home just before 4 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault in progress.
Upon arrival, officers found the body of 57-year-old Kim Beacham-Hanson, who had been bludgeoned to death. An autopsy conducted by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood confirmed that multiple blunt-force injuries were the cause of death and ruled it a homicide.
Beacham was taken into custody at the scene later that evening and is currently being held at the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly She is awaiting a detention hearing in Superior Court, and the case will be presented to a grand jury for potential indictment.
While the investigation into the motive for the attack continues, authorities have not released further details.
