A Trenton woman was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault following an alleged attack on her grandmother late Saturday night.
Police responded to a residence on the 30 block of Walnut Avenue shortly before 9:55 p.m. after receiving reports of a physical altercation.
Upon arrival, officers found an elderly woman suffering from stab wounds.
According to preliminary reports, the suspect, the victim's granddaughter, reportedly used scissors to attack her during a verbal dispute.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to recover from her injuries. The suspect is currently being held in a Mercer County Jail.
The investigation into the incident remains active.
