Officials at NJ Transit are looking into the cause of a crash that involved a light-rail train and a school bus Wednesday evening.
Police said at approximately 7:10 p.m., a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train that departed Hoboken at 6:53 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at 8th St., at 7:23 p.m., came in contact with a school bus at the intersection of Essex and Warren Streets in Jersey City.
Transit officials said there were no students on board the school bus.
According to NJ Transit, the operator of the light rail vehicle claimed minor injury.
There were no injuries reported to the approximately 40 customers on board.
HBLR service was temporarily suspended between Essex Street and Marin Boulevard, officials said.
New Jersey Transit Police will lead the investigation.
