NJ Transit officials announced that their President-CEO Kevin Corbett has tested positive for the new coronavirus.
Officials say Corbett, 64, is maintaining his regular work schedule while currently isolating at home. “Corbett is feeling well” said the statement released by NJ Transit.
It is not clear how Corbett contracted the virus but officials say he commutes on the train to NJ Transit headquarters in Newark from his home in Mendham daily.
NJ Transit officials confirmed that two workers have died after contracting the virus since the deadly outbreak occurred.
To date, 71,000 New Jersey residents has the virus that killed more than 3,000.
