New Jersey State Troopers apprehended a male suspect during a foot chase following a shots-fired incident in Newark's South Ward on Saturday afternoon.FitnessReports stated that the incident was initially detected by a ShotSpotter device, which alerted authorities to gunfire near 26 Aldine Street just before 4 p.m.

The State Police's involvement in the area at the time of the incident remains unclear, and it has not been confirmed whether they were conducting an ongoing investigation.

However, upon arrival at the scene, troopers quickly identified a suspect and initiated a foot pursuit that culminated in a swift arrest.
