Authorities in Hudson County announced that the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the West New York Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run that critically injured a pedestrian on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Officials stated that at approximately 3:40 p.m., the West New York Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck by a motorcycle in the area of Bergenline Avenue and 57th Street.
Responding officers located a 54-year-old male from Union City with life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Authorities say the occupant(s) of the motorcycle fled the scene on foot.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, according to officials.
Officials say the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the West New York Police Department are actively investigating this case.
