Authorities arrested 64-year-old Charles B. Brinson at his Trenton residence on Wednesday, February 19.

He is facing two counts of first-degree aggravated explicit contact of an incapacitated victim and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors have filed a motion to detain Brinson as the legal process moves forward.

The case came to light in February 2024, when the victim reported to Trenton police that they had explicit contact with them on two separate occasions in January and February.

According to investigators, Brinson allegedly administered an unknown substance to the victim, causing them to lose consciousness before the assaults took place at his home.

Brinson, who serves as the Bishop of Brinson Memorial Church, Inc., located on Brinton Avenue in Trenton, is now at the center of an ongoing investigation.
