The Pentagon announced on Monday the tragic loss of three Army Reserve soldiers, including Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, 46, from Willingboro, New Jersey, in a recent drone attack near the Syrian border.AdThe other two soldiers were identified as Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders, 24, from Waycross, Georgia, and Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, 23, from Savannah, Georgia.

This incident also resulted in injuries to thirty-four American service members.

U.S. officials, gathering information since Sunday, stated that the attack was perpetrated by radical Iran-backed militant groups active in Syria and Iraq.

President Joe Biden confirmed this information in his statement on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Ministry denied any involvement in the attack that occurred at a U.S. base in Jordan, killing the American service members.

Sgt. William Jerome Rivers was remembered for his exceptional service.

"Sergeant Rivers served with courage, honor, and a deep sense of duty, embodying the best of New Jersey and our nation. His death is a profound loss to his family, friends, colleagues, and our entire country, and a reminder of the heavy debt we owe to our military families for their sacrifice," remarked U.S. Senator Cory Booker.

The incident has heightened tensions in the region and underscored the ongoing risks faced by American military personnel stationed abroad.
