According to Atlantic County officials, on October 9, 2024, Atlantic City police observed Gittens displaying signs of distress inside a restaurant in Atlantic City.

He told police he was chased inside by a woman with a baton-like stick, ACPO officials say.

Police spoke to the woman, and she said that Gittens had stolen her package, which had been delivered outside her home address, Atlantic City officials stated.

Subsequently, on October 27, 2024, police were dispatched to the Dollar General in Atlantic City in response to a man acting irate and attempting to steal items from the store, according to Atlantic County officials.
