Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Mount Laurel man after his SUV collided with a truck along the New Jersey Turnpike on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a statement released by Burlington County officials, the crash occurred at approximately 3:59 p.m. in the southbound outer roadway near Mansfield Township.
Preliminary findings from the New Jersey State Police indicate that a GMC Terrain was traveling southbound when it rear-ended a Freightliner semi-trailer.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 72-year-old Thomas Guzzi of Mount Laurel, was ejected from his vehicle during the impact and suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Authorities have not released further details, and the incident remains under investigation.
