Authorities in Bergen County announced the arrest of 31-year-old Shaboo O. Williams, of New Milford, on charges of explicit assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal explicit contact.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella stated the arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, the New Milford Police Department under the direction of Chief Brian Clancy, and the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Kyle Lezette.
According to County officials, on Tuesday, October 8, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was contacted regarding the alleged explicit assault of a juvenile that had occurred in the past.
Officials say that an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Milford Police Department, and the Dumont Police Department revealed that Shaboo O. Williams explicitly assaulted the juvenile victim on multiple occasions when the child was between the ages of thirteen and eighteen in New Milford.
As a result of the investigation, on Friday, October 11, Shaboo O. Williams was charged with second-degree explicit assault, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal explicit contact, Bergen County authorities.
County officials stated that on Saturday, October 12, Williams was arrested in New Milford and remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
