Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Consumer Affairs announced that Rasha Abdul N. Basuf, owner of Skyn Spa in Clifton, agreed to pay a $10,000 penalty and accept a 10-year ban on operating a skin care spa in NJ.
This resolves allegations of performing invasive aesthetic treatments without proper licenses.
Basuf allegedly provided services like Botox, dermal filler injections, and laser hair removal without being a licensed cosmetologist or physician.
The investigation, prompted by a public tip, revealed multiple unlicensed activities between March and December 2023.
In addition to the penalty, Basuf is prohibited from offering any mal or cosmetology services in NJ for the next decade. The spa has been shut down, and its license has been surrendered.
