John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc. has initiated a voluntary recall for a specific lot of 8.25 oz Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews sold in several states, including New Jersey, due to the potential presence of undeclared coconut and milk. This poses a serious risk to individuals with allergies or severe sensitivity to these ingredients, as they could experience life-threatening allergic reactions upon consumption.
The recall pertains to cashews with a "Best if used by" date of Jul 08, 2025 GH2, identifiable by a blue label on the 8.25 oz plastic can and a UPC of 078742133348.
To date, no incidents of adverse reactions have been reported.
These cashews were available at select Walmart stores across various states and online at Walmart.com.The recall was prompted by a consumer finding coconut cashews in a package labeled as honey roasted cashews, leading to the discovery that a small batch had been mislabeled due to a mix-up in the manufacturing process.
Consumers in possession of the affected product are advised not to consume it and either discard it or return it to any Walmart store for a full refund.
