NJ AG Announces Takeover of Warren County Prosecutor's Office, Appoints New Acting Prosecutor

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin has announced a significant change in the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, with Anthony Picione stepping in as the Acting Warren County Prosecutor, following the immediate resignation of James Pfeiffer.AdPicione, a Warren County native and seasoned figure in the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, brings nearly a quarter-century of experience in combating corruption and promoting public integrity to his new role.

Since October 2020, Picione has held the position of deputy director of the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability (OPIA), showcasing his commitment to justice and the public's safety.

His appointment is part of Attorney General Platkin's efforts to ensure the 21 County Prosecutors across New Jersey effectively safeguard the well-being of its residents.

“Tony Picione’s extensive experience and proven track record make him the ideal candidate to lead the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office," stated Attorney General Platkin.
