Am attempted burglary that happened in Newark's Central Ward had a resident stab one of the suspects who forced entry into her home.
Accoriding to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose police arrested **Shadee Holley, 27,** of Newark for burglary after he was stabbed by his victim during a burglary.
Director Ambrose said, at approximately 6:21 p.m., a 30-year old female victim and her boyfriend were at home in the 700-block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard when a male suspect broke into the apartment following a verbal confrontation with the suspect and his accomplice.
The victim stated that she stabbed the suspect in his back as he was attempting to force his way into their apartment Ambrose said.
Holley was treated at University Hospital for his wound.
Director Ambrose said after Holley was identified as one of the two burglary suspects, police arrested him without incident.
He is charged with Burglary and Simple Assault while the second suspect remains at large.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
