An early morning shooting in Newark is under investigation.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that broke out in the 100 block of Columbia Ave. shortly before 3 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a male victim (around the age of 20-years-old) shot multiple times at that location.
EMS were called to the scene where they rushed the victim to University Hospital reportedly suffering gunshot wounds to the abdomen and hip. The man's condition has not been released as of 6 a.m. this morning.
Police setup a crime scene where evidence was gathered.
