The Newark Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent package theft.
The incident occurred on Friday, January 5, 2024, in the vicinity of Vailsburg Terrace and South Munn Avenue.According to the victim's report, a package was delivered to their residence at approximately 10:41 a.m.
Shortly after delivery, the package was stolen by a male suspect. Oddly, the suspect left a case of water on the steps of the residence before making off with the package.
Detectives working on the case have provided a description of the suspect. He was last seen wearing green cargo pants, a FedEx jacket, and a blue winter hat adorned with lettering.
The suspect was observed fleeing the scene on foot to the corner of Vailsburg Terrace and South Munn Avenue, where he retrieved a bicycle and rode away.There is a possibility that the suspect may be impersonating a delivery worker from various businesses.
Director Fragé of the Newark Police Department is appealing to anyone with information about the suspect's identity to come forward.
