By: Richard L. Smith After a chilly stretch, Newark and the North Jersey region are enjoying a warmer start this Friday, with even milder weather on the horizon. Good morning, temperatures reached 48°F in downtown Newark, nearly 10 degrees warmer than Thursday’s early morning lows. Skies are partly to mostly cloudy, and the day is shaping up to be a perfect one for getting outside, especially for lunch. According to the National Weather Service, today will be partly sunny with a high near 64°F. A light southwest wind between 6 and 9 mph will make the afternoon feel even more comfortable. Looking ahead to tonight, there’s a 50% chance of showers, mainly before 2 a.m., as a weak system passes through the region. With even warmer temperatures expected Saturday, North Jersey is set to get its first real taste of summer this season. Have a great Friday, NJ!
