Newark Wakes This Sunday to Increased Humidity and Chance of Showers

Residents in Newark and surrounding areas in North Jersey are experiencing a slightly more humid start to their day compared to Saturday, with cloudy skies overhead and a potential for light precipitation later in the day.Back2SchoolToday's weather may prompt many to reactivate their air conditioners as temperatures are expected to reach a warmer high near 87 degrees.

The National Weather Service reports a 20 percent chance of showers developing after 2 p.m. and primarily cloudy conditions throughout the day.

Winds will remain calm, turning south at 5 to 9 mph speeds as the morning progresses.

As evening approaches, NWS meteorologists say the chance of showers continues at 20 percent, with night temperatures settling around a mild 72 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

Newark residents are encouraged to enjoy their day, perhaps with a light umbrella, as the region navigates this pleasant yet slightly unpredictable weather.
