Newark Starts Week Under Cool Skies as Florida Braces for Hurricane Milton's Impact

Newark begins the week with a cool 65 degrees and cloudy skies at 4:30 a.m., with spotty showers just west of the city expected to clear as the morning progresses.NinosThe National Weather Service predicts improving conditions later today, with a high near 74 degrees.

Meanwhile, meteorologists from the National Hurricane Center are closely monitoring Hurricane Milton, which is expected to make landfall on Wednesday.

While Milton isn’t expected to affect North Jersey weather immediately, Florida residents—still recovering from Hurricane Helene—are already beginning evacuations in anticipation of the storm.

Milton is projected to intensify into a Category 3 hurricane before reaching the Florida coast.

For Newark, NWS meteorologists say to expect showers early in the day, mainly before 8 a.m., with southwest winds shifting to the northwest by the afternoon.

Tonight, skies will clear, and temperatures will drop to around 52 degrees.
