Good morning, New Jersey! As the city wakes up to 43 degrees in Downtown Newark, much of the region is covered in fog—some areas experiencing thicker patches than others.

Skies are mostly cloudy, and while temperatures are expected to rise into the 50s, it won’t feel as warm due to the lack of sunshine.

A light jacket or coat will still be necessary for most of the day.

According to the National Weather Service:

  • Thursday: Patchy drizzle and fog before 2 p.m., followed by a slight chance of showers after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. Southeast winds 7 to 14 mph.
  • Thursday Night: Rain showers are expected mainly between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Low around 39. Winds shifting from southeast to northwest overnight. The chance of precipitation is 90%.
