Two people suffered minor injuries after being cut by a man in a section of Newark Sunday.
The early morning incident happed around 1:17 a.m. in the 100 block of Thomas Street, where officials said police received 911 calls reporting a woman stabbed at the location.
Officers arrived and found the victim suffering superficial wounds and the suspect seriously injured after he was beaten by unknown assailants who reportedly attempted to disarm him.
Police said the suspect was rushed to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries while police stayed at the scene and launched an investigation.
Newark Police Detectives and crime scene units arrived at the scene to assist in the investigation.
