Officials in East Orange notified Newark Police of a victim suffering stab injuries who arrived at a hospital in the city on Wednesday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, staff at East Orange General Hospital contacted police when the unidentified victim entered the emergency room bleeding after suffering stab wounds.
Officials say the victim reported being stabbed in the area of Clinton Avenue and Jeliff Street shortly before 1:15 p.m.
Newark Police arrived at the hospital and continued the investigation that remains active and ongoing.
No arrests were immediately reported.
