An overnight shooting sent a man to the hospital in Newark.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m., hospital officials contacted Newark Police after a male victim suffering a gunshot injury arrived at University Hospital.
After speaking with the victim, officers responded to the area of Pennington and Hermon streets where evidence of a shooting was located.
The extent of the victim's injuries were not reported to be life threstening.
The incident is under investigation by authorities.
