Authorities announced the arrest of Kadeem Johnson, 28, of Newark, for a shooting that occurred on Wednesday evening.
Police said shortly after 10 p.m., a 27-year old male victim was shot in the area of Alpine Street and Irvine Turner Boulevard.
The victim arrived at University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and was released.
Detectives developed evidence that Kadeem Johnson is a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Detectives arrested Johnson today without incident.
Police charged Johnson with two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
