Newark Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the South Ward on Sunday evening, which resulted in a male being hospitalized.
According to initial reports, gunshots were heard in the area of 515 Elizabeth Avenue, leading officers to respond to the scene.
Upon their arrival, police discovered an unidentified male with two gunshot wounds.
The victim was promptly transported to University Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the motive behind the attack.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Newark Police are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
