Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced today that the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the fatal shooting of Joshua L. Moore, 36, of Elizabeth.
Accordinng to authorities, at 12:10 am on Sunday, police received the first call of shots fired in the vicinity of E. Peddie Street and Frelinghuysen Avenue.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:32 a.m. authorities said.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
Authorities said, at this time no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
