Newark Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips Gang Member Admits to Racketeering Conspiracy

A member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips gang admitted his role in a racketeering conspiracy, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced today.

Nygee Johnson, aka “Gito,” 25, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton in Newark federal court on July 17, 2024, to a superseding indictment charging him with Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) conspiracy.

According to court documents and statements, from 2015 through September 22, 2022, Johnson was a member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips, a criminal enterprise responsible for acts of violence and the distribution of controlled substances in New Jersey and beyond.

Ad Johnson conspired with others, including gang members and associates, to commit bank fraud and distribute controlled substances.

Johnson faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for December 3, 2024.
