An early morning pursuit that began in Newark ended in an Irvington community with authorities placing one person in custody.
The incident reportedly began in the area of Bergen Street and 18th Ave. when cops attempted to pull over a vehicle that refused to stop for possible traffic violations.
Police followed the vehicle that continued at a high rate of speed down several Newark streets when it entered the area of Eastern Parkway and Arverne Terrace in Irvington.
The male suspect bailed from the vehicle with officers in pursuit.
Cops took that suspect into custody a short time later. It is not immediately known what the suspect was wanted for.
There were no injuries reported.
