Newark Public Schools Make the Decision to Start School Year Remotely

Newark

The Newark Teachers Union recently announced that Newark schools will continue remote learning until the end of the first marking period.

"We must reestablish teachers and students as the sole interest of the Newark educational community," John M Abeigon, President of the Newark Teachers Union, said. "The needs of the students and teachers come first"

According to Mr. Abeigon, teachers and students will continue virtual learning until about mid-November, then the NBOE Reopening Task Force will reassess the viability of returning to in-person learning.
