Authorities in Newark request the public’s help locating Michael McDonald, 33, who is wanted for questioning regarding a robbery that occurred on Tuesday, May 14.Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé stated at approximately 10 a.m., police responded to P&T Supermarket, located in the 300 block of Clinton Place, on a call of a robbery.
A man arrived at the supermarket to make deliveries, and he parked his vehicle in the rear near Lehigh Avenue, officials said.
After the victim entered the store, officials say, he heard his car alarm sounding, and he walked outside to find three male suspects removing delivery boxes containing tobacco products valued at $2,000.00 from his vehicle.
According to officials, when the victim approached the suspects, he was struck with closed fists and kicked by them.
The suspects also took his cell phone, which had fallen out of his pocket, officials stated.
Authorities say the suspects fled the scene with the victim’s delivery boxes in a 2011 Kia Sorrento bearing NJ license plate Y29MVR.
The suspect vehicle also had damages to the rear passenger side window and rear tailgate window, officials say.
Officials said detectives investigating this incident describe the first suspect as wearing a black ski mask, light-gray hooded sweatshirt, blue sweatpants, and gloves.
The second suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans with white marks on the back pockets, and white shoes, according to officials. Officials stated that the third suspect was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, faded, ripped blue jeans, and gray and white sneakers.
Authorities say police are seeking Michael McDonald for questioning.
