Newark Police Seeks Help Identifying Robbery Suspects, Locating Vehicle

Authorities in Newark requests the public’s help in locating the vehicle that was used by several suspects who robbed a victim of $1,600 on July 6, 2024.AdNewark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said the incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. in the 40 block of Napoleon Street.

When police officers responded, they found a victim suffering from lacerations to his face after he was assaulted and robbed by two or three Black male suspects, officials stated. 

Officials say two of the men exited the vehicle pictured below, possibly a Kia, and approached the victim from behind, striking him in the face with a handgun.

During the attack, officials said, the victim fell to the ground where the suspects took his wallet containing $1,600, identification, and debit cards.

 

They got back into the white-colored, four-door vehicle and drove away, according to officials. AdAuthorities say the suspects wore dark clothing and the vehicle had tints on the window, and a fog light on the driver’s side.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity and the whereabouts of the vehicle to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
