Authorities in Newark request the public’s help identifying the suspect who stole a wallet from a victim’s unlocked vehicle on July 16.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said the burglary occurred at approximately 7 a.m. in the 60 block of Pennington Street, where police officers responded and met the victim.
Officials stated that on surveillance video, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and took the wallet from the center console.
The suspect then attempted to use the victim’s credit at a fast-food restaurant but was unsuccessful, officials said.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
