Authorities in Newark request the public’s help with identifying the suspect, who stole $733 from a victim’s residence on December 27, 2023.
According to officials, police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:25 a.m. in the 600 block of North 5th Street.
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said the suspect was captured on surveillance video running away from the victim’s home, where he took the cash from a nightstand in the bedroom before fleeing southbound on North 5th Street.
On the surveillance video, officials stated the suspect appears to be wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, a blue sweater with a white Champion logo on the front, and sneakers.
