Authorities in Newark request public help identifying the suspects who robbed a victim at gunpoint on December 3.Newark Public Safety Director Emmanuel Miranda Sr. stated that at approximately 8:18 p.m., two Black males brandishing weapons approached the victim from behind in the 400 block of South 9th Street.
The first suspect pointed the gun at the victim, demanding that he give up his wallet and cell phone, Newark Police said.
According to Newark authorities, when he complied, both suspects shoved the victim toward an empty lot before they ran away southbound on 9th Street toward 16th Avenue. Suspect #1 wore black pants and a ski mask, and suspect #2 wore a white checkered jacket, black pants, and a black ski mask, Newark officials stated. Director Miranda Sr. urges anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
