Newark Police Seeks Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the suspect, who robbed a gas station attendant of $200 at gunpoint on December 26, 2023.

Authorities in Newark said police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:52 a.m. at the Millennium Gas Station, located in the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue.AdAccording to officials, the suspect, who was driving a stolen BMW bearing New Jersey registration Z29EPU, pulled into the station to get gas.

When the attendant began to pump fuel into the vehicle, the suspect exited the car brandishing a weapon, demanding money from the employee, officials stated.

Officials said the suspect rifled through his pockets, took the $200, and drove away in the BMW, which was later recovered in the 100 block of Prince Street.AdThe suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a medium build, officials say and was wearing black Puma sweatpants with a white stripe running along both sides of his legs, a black hooded sweatshirt, a blue/purple mask, and white sneakers.
