Newark Police Seek the Public's Help in Identifying Theft from Auto Suspect

Police in Newark requests the public’s help identifying a male suspect wanted in connection with a theft from auto that occurred on Wednesday, March 16.

Authorities say that just before 11:10 a.m., police responded to Sanford Avenue and Lennox Avenue on a call of a theft from auto.

A victim’s driver’s side window was broken into by the suspect, who stole clothing and bedding items, valued at $600.00 to $700.00, before fleeing westbound on Lennox Avenue.

According to authorities, detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect as part of their investigation.

Theft From Auto Suspect

Officials say he is described as a 5’6” tall Black male with gray facial hair, wearing glasses, a black hoodie, blue jeans, and black and white Nike sneakers.

Director O’Hara urges anyone with information on the identity of this suspect to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
