Authorities in Newark are asking for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a package theft that took place earlier this week, according to a statement released by the Newark Police.
The incident occurred on Monday, December 2, 2024, when a package was delivered around 2 p.m. to a residence on the 700 block of South 13th Street.
According to police, home surveillance footage captured a man removing the package, valued at approximately $140, from the victim’s porch.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. has urged anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to come forward.
Residents can provide tips anonymously by calling the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
Authorities are continuing their investigation and emphasize the importance of community cooperation in solving such cases.
