Newark Police Seek the Public's Help in Identifying Assault Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O'Hara requests the public's help in identifying the male suspect in an assault that occurred on Wednesday, November 3.

According to police officials, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a woman was assaulted in the 700 block of South Orange Avenue by a male who spit in her face following a quarrel.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public's help quickly identifying this suspect as part of their investigation. 

According to police, he is described as 5'5" tall and wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans.

Director O'Hara urges anyone with information on the identity of this suspect to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). 

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
