Newark Police Seek Public's Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help identifying the pictured suspect in who is wanted for an armed robbery that occurred on Monday.

According to authorities, at approximately 12 a.m., officers responded to the area of Salem Street and Rockland Terrace on a robbery call.

Upon arrival, police met with a 21-year-old female victim who told them she was in the area with a friend, when a male suspect approached her, pulled her to a backyard and pointed a gun at her demanding her property.

The friend she was with assaulted her and the two suspects robbed her of her cash, cell phone and other personal items.

Both suspects then fled on foot onto Salem Street heading towards South Orange Avenue.

While police are actively searching for the suspect and his accomplice, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
