The Newark Police Department requests the public's assistance in identifying five suspects involved in a recent robbery.The incident occurred on Thursday, February 1, at about 9:03 p.m. on Carteret Street near Lincoln Avenue.
The victim, a man walking in the area, was attacked by the group, leaving him unconscious.
Police said the assailants stole the victim's wallet, which contained cash, debit cards, and other personal items. Following the robbery, surveillance cameras captured footage of the suspects using the victim's debit card.
The Newark Police provided descriptions of the suspects. Suspect 1 is a male, about 5'8" tall, with a thin build and light complexion, dressed in all black.
Suspect 2 is a female, standing 5'1" tall, heavyset, with a light complexion, wearing eyeglasses, a black hood with white writing, and gray pants.
Suspect 3 is a male, approximately 5'8" tall, with a thin build and a light complexion, wearing a ski mask, a black vest, and Adidas sweatpants.
Suspect 4 is a female, around 5'1" tall, with a light complexion and a thin build, donning a black hood with white writing.
Lastly, Suspect 5 is a male wearing a ski mask, a blue North Face vest, gray jeans, a black hood, and black and white sneakers.Director Fragé is urging anyone with information about the suspects' identities to contact the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
All tips provided to Crime Stoppers will remain confidential and could potentially lead to a reward.
