Newark Police are on the search for a vehicle carjacked in the North Ward on Saturday evening.
The incident, which unfolded before 9 p.m., saw officers rushing to the vicinity of 583 North 9th Street following reports of a carjacking in progress.
Upon arrival, the units learned that the suspect had forcefully stolen a red Toyota RAV4 from the victim, reportedly utilizing strong-arm tactics.
The Newark Police Department promptly issued a 'be on the lookout' alert to surrounding police departments.
The stolen vehicle, bearing New Jersey license plate number "H80-NBW," was last spotted in the South Ward on Avon Avenue.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported immediately following the incident.
The Newark Police continue their investigation, seeking any leads that could assist in recovering the stolen vehicle and apprehending the suspect involved in this bold act.
