Newark Police are on the search for an armed individual who reportedly fired at a ma in the Central Ward, near Home Depot, just before 11 p.m., Monday night.
Responding to calls of gunfire, law enforcement units responded to the scene, discovering shell casings at 399 Springfield Avenue, clear indicators of a recent shooting.
Further investigation revealed a vehicle that had been hit by bullets.
Reports said the male driver inside emerged unscathed from the incident. The shooter, however, managed to escape and is currently at large, prompting a citywide search.
The Newark Shooting Response Team was dispatched to the location, offering their expertise to aid in the investigation.
As the probe into the shooting continues, the motive behind this attack remains a mystery.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect.
