Early Tuesday morning, Newark Police turned their attention to two stolen vehicles abandoned in the city's North Ward. One of the incidents occurred around 3:30 a.m. when officers were called to 256 Garside Street over concerns about a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival, the police confirmed the vehicle was stolen and promptly arranged for its tow from the middle of the street.
Investigations are underway to establish if this vehicle is connected to an earlier violent carjacking reported on Ridge Street just before 1 a.m., where two victims were assaulted.
As the Newark Police work to figure out these incidents, no arrests have been made yet.
