Late Sunday night, a Newark police officer sustained non-fatal injuries following a collision at the intersection of 16th Avenue and South 10th Street.
According to a preliminary investigation, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. and prompted a swift response from emergency responders.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a damaged police cruiser and one of their fellow officers injured. The injured cop was promptly transported to University Hospital for medical attention, and fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening.
An investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the crash. It has been confirmed that at least one other vehicle was involved in the collision.
